During September take place the main processions in Lanzarote in honor to the Virgen de los Remedios and Lanzarote´s patron saint Virgin of the Volcanoes or Nuestra Señora de los Dolores. The market opens from 10 a.m to 6 p.m and offers all supplies and clothing to go on the pilgrimage. Moreover the artisans will be performing these activities and creations during the market. The entrance is free of charge.

During this day the patron saint of the island gathers thousands of pilgrims from Lanzarote, other islands and tourists from all around the world to participate in the massive pilgrimage of Los Dolores. According to legend the Virgin of the Volcanoes, as she is also known, stopped the lava right at the entrance of the village of Mancha Blanca when the latest eruption of Timanfaya volcanoes occurred in 1824.
