Stretch 1

• Set out from the Monument to the Peasant and in the roundabout take the direction of San Bartolomé, which is less than two kilometers away.
  
  
• Enter the village on the first deviation to the right, it will take you straight to the square where the Casino, The City Council and the Church which is under the advocation of the saint that gives it its name -its festivities take place in late August and if your stay coincides with these dates don't miss them
  
  
• . Just behind the Town Hall is the Barreto winery. Here you can visit the wine aging winery and sample the wines from this house: In Masdache are located the new facilities open to the public.

• Before exiting the village to return to the Monument to the Peasant don't forget to visit the Ethnographic Museum and the beautiful Major Guerra House, restored and fitted out for cultural events.
  
  
• In the roundabout of the Monument take the path where the sign points to Masdache -La Geria-Uga-Yaiza and watching the holes where the vines are grown begin to imagine the aroma of the wines that flow from that land.
  
  
• You will have the chance to taste them two kilometers ahead in the Bodega El Grifo where, if you're a curious person, you can learn in their museum and library all the aspects of winemaking in Lanzarote.

• as you leave take the exit to your right, walk by Masdache and if you have time, enter the Chapel of the Magdalene. Enjoy the sea of lava and volcanoes that appears before you. In two minutes you'll be in the heart of La Geria, of which the vision of just imagining the superhuman work needed in each vine moves.
  
  
• Many are the wineries that you'll find at each side of the road but you should stop to your right where, at Kilometer 5, is Bodega La Geria.

• Very close to this winery, on the right hand side, you'll see the Ermita de La Caridad, which was buried by the lapilli (volcanic gravel) during the great eruption. Be sure to visit.
  
  
• Going back to the road you've just taken, walk by the road and turn at the signpost A Mácher. When you reach the village, locate the street "Camino del Volcán", in which in the house number one is the peculiar Bodega Timanfaya, embedded inside a volcanic tube.

• After the visit, take the main road running through the Pago de Uga where you can try a delicious smoked salmon- follow-up to the beautiful village of Yaiza.
  
  
• . During the journey entertain yourself with the scenery. Do not leave without giving a long walk and contemplate the beautiful samples of folk architecture, which are built in this area. Sit down to rest in the Plaza, if possible, under the Ombú that flanks the door of the church of Los Remedios, brought by an inmigrant from Argentina.
  
  
• Finish the day at the nearby Salinas de Janubio of which Agustín Espinosa wrote: "... On the Southern, warm, landscape of Lanzarote, Las Salinas Janubio. they build the same snowy landscape of the carts with salt, of hermitages, the cemeteries, of the water tanks of Lanzarote. Of false Laplandishness of Christmas ..." (Lanzarote 28th 7).
